1. Popular American Rapper 50 Cent Announces TV Series Production Based On Hushpuppi

American rapper, actor, and entrepreneur Curtis James Jackson III, better known by his stage name, 50 Cent, is developing a television series about well-known con artist Ramon Abbas, popularly known as Hushpuppi.

50 cent shared the news on his Instagram page on Wednesday, November 9th, 2022 with a photo of Hushpuppi writing; “For my scammers I gotta do this one, Hushpuppi series coming soon!” Prior to 50 Cent’s news, Universal Pictures, Will Packer Productions, and Mo Abudu’s EbonyLife acquired the rights to the Bloomberg article “The Fall of the Billionaire Gucci Master,” about the Instagram influencer Hushpuppi in 2021.

2. Google Redesigns Gmail Interface With 3 New Features

Global tech giant, Google has announced it will be changing the interface of its mail app, ‘Gmail’ and will be adding three new features which include Chat, Spaces and Meet. With the new development, users can no longer revert to the old interface as this new feature will now be the permanent style for the mail app.

Google recently transitioned from Hangouts to Google Chat early this month as its new messaging platform has been integrated into the new Gmail interface. Google confirmed that the new integrated view which will now show Chat, Spaces, and Meet on the left side of the mail window will now become the standard for users who have enabled Chat. Google also stated that users can use the quick settings to customize this new interface to include the apps which are most important to the users.

3. Paul G. Allen’s Art Breaks Record At Christie’s Topping  $1.5 Billion

Microsoft co-founder Paul G. Allen’s Art hit the $1.5 billion mark at Christie’s New York on Wednesday night, making it the biggest sale in auction history. A museum’s worth of masterworks from the Microsoft co-founder’s collection are offered in a two-part charity sale of which Five topped $100 million.

Just when it seemed the high-flying art market couldn’t soar any higher, paintings and sculptures from the collection of the. The sale hit the $1 billion mark at Lot 32, Alberto Giacometti’s graceful standing nude “Femme de Venise III,”  which sold for $25 million on an estimate of $15 million to $20 million.

5.  Davido Postpones A.W.A.Y Festival By One Year

Nigerian singer, Davido has postponed his ‘Are We African Yet’ (A.W.A.Y) festival, as he continues to mourn his son. A. W. A. Y, a one-day event, which was scheduled to take place in Atlanta, Georgia, United States of America’s State Farm Arena on November 18, has been postponed until November 18, 2023.

This information was released by Davido on his management’s official Instagram page.
The brief statement reads: “We have decided to postpone the A.W.AY Festival to Saturday, November 18, 2023.” This is done in honour of the death of his son, Ifeanyi Adeleke, who died at the age of 3.

6. Music Startup Gemtracks Seeks To Raise $5M, Seed Fund

Los Angeles music startup, Gemtracks, has reportedly been in talks of raising $5M in its Series A funding. The company, founded by Jesse Neo and Milana Leybovich, is one of the world’s biggest marketplaces for DYI musicians. Within the African diaspora, Gemtracks has garnered a reputation for helping Africans to enter the American music industry through collaborations with American artists.

Gemtracks currently boasts more than 10,000 active members. Each day, more than 20,000 users visit its website. The website is best known for allowing the buying and selling of instrumental beats, hiring freelance musicians, booking recording studios and submitting finished songs to curators.

7. Tiwa Savage Releases Music Video For New Song, ‘Loaded’ ft. Asake

Afropop diva, Tiwa Savage recently dropped the video for her latest smash hit single titled ‘Loaded’ of which she featured rising star Asake. In the video which was directed by TG Omori aka Boy Director, both Tiwa and Asake displayed a high sense of urban fashion which made the project colorful.

The talented actress who featured Asake in the new song revisited her leaked sex video, noting that the scandal cannot ruin her life. Tiwa sang in Yoruba “They planned against me, but sex tape can’t ruin my life,” where she also proceeded to say, “who never f*ck, hands in the air”.
